    Hello all,
I'm new to .TS conversion, had read many posts on this forum for the past few weeks and successfully converted some files to .avi from TS.

however, i noticed that my output avi videos have a tendency to have some pretty obvious lines while playing, while the TS file does not have such problem.

    something like this, eg; http://i45.tinypic.com/2dkabev.jpg

what i do is to demux the video and audio, and join them together with virtualdubmod while resizing it to 1280x720. (bicubic filter mode) then, i choose xvid compression with a configuration of profile @ level: advanced simple @ L5, encoding type: single pass, and target quantizer: 3.58.

is there a way i can make the lines disappear and have the video play as normal?

would have done a search on the site for, only i can't be sure what keywords to use.. (tried searching but nothing relevant came up..) o.O will appreciate any help available here..

    thanks alot!

  2. You need to deinterlace. Try VirtualDub's deinterlace filter in Yadif mode. Or Donald Graft's Smart Deinterlace filter in VirtualDubMod. Deinterlace before resizing.

  4. There are better deinterlacers but you'll have to learn some AviSynth to use them. TempGaussMC_beta1() is one of the best but it's very slow. YadifMod() + nnedi() is often recommended. The following post links to an AVI sample of deinterlacing a challenging source with different AviSynth deinterlacers:
