Adding subs

Well I am trying to make some fansubs, I am using VirtualDub, VirtualDub Subtitler Filter, Sub Station Alpha, but I am finding Sub Station Alpha very hard to use, I have added the text I want and the time but it doesn't show up when I load the file in virtualDub, I am a newbie so can any1 help me?

You make generate the timed subtitle file from within SSA. You need add the subtitler filter to your VDub project, if you double click on it/run it, you can then choose the *.ssa file you want to add to the VDub project.

You don't even really need SSA just the timed script file.

Yeah but its harder then it sounds, I have made it and I can open it, I have also put a time but it still doesn't show anything

1) Sub Station Alpah: make and save your subs as *.ssa

2) VDub: File-->Open Video file-->select your avi file-->Video-->Filter--->Subtitile-->select your ssa and hit OK--->File--->Save as *.vdr--->File--->Start frame serving--->minimize *don't close* Vdub.

3) TMPGEnc: Open the vdr file and save it as whatever you want.

I think that's the procedure...Probably missed something, but that's the general idea.
