I am attempting to convert an AVI from 25 fps to 23 fps. It is my understanding that all I have to do I choose the NTSCfilm template in TMPGEnc and it will be done. (if this is wrong please tell me.) Here is my question. What will happen if I extract the audio using VirtualDub-mp3 and remove the bad frames before I change the framerate? Won't their be a problem with sync or something? If anyone has answers or advice it would be much appreciated.

  2. Do not do this in TMPG, it will keep the film the same length as before which means it will have less frames in and will be jerky upon playback, you need to convert properly, tools you will need will be TMPGEnc, Vdub, Besweet, also you should never encode anything with bad frames, remove them first or you will get sync problems.
Here is a link to a guide that works perfect for me.

Follow it to a tee, the reason there is 1a, 1b, 1c is so you can choose your way of doing it.
