  1. I've read so many good things about CCE on the board so I decided to give it a shot. Today I purchased Cinema Craft Encoder Basic which replaces the old light version. When I choose cbr or 2 pass cbr it generates a usable file. When I choose 2 pass vbr it makes a file that plays fine but the app that I use to make my DVDs (DVD Complete) says is not dvd compliant. Am I doing something wrong? Any good guides? I really miss the size estimator that TMPGEnc.

  2. What's the resolution of your MPEG2 file? Is the audio 48Khz? What format is the audio? Even thou pretty much every standalone will play mp2 audio from a DVD the DVD standard calls for AC3 or PCM and some authoring programs will only accept that (IIRC Ulead is one).

  3. The audio is 256kbits but the audio is just fine it is the vido that the authoring program is having a problem with.

CCE set the GOPs to 9800 bit rate when you check DVD compliant.
This causes most software to have problems when trying to use the mpeg file. Just don't check that option and it will import into DVD complete.

As a side note, have you tried the Ligos encoder that comes with DVD complete. From what I've been hearing, it's changed a lot and is very nice. It has a multi-pass VBR mode etc...
