  1. Can u author DVD files using Adobe Premier. i.e. will it create the VIDEO_TS folder and the other files?

My input is an MPEG2 file that I captured from a TV tuner.

NO, you need a DVD authoring program. Premiere is strictly an AVI/QT editing program. If you're at the MPG2 file stage you probably don't even want Premiere. Check the [AUTHOR] How-To, or the [TOOLS] guide to the left for more info.

Touch64 is right that you MAY not want Premier...at least, may not need it. But, for example, I use Premier a lot. Depends on what you are really trying to do. I use Premier, because I burn home movies, and mix in jpg photos, add music, etc. I like the transitiions, titles, overlays, etc.

Not to say you can't do it with other programs, but Premier offers a lot of flexibility in authoring that many of the other programs don't. It is not an easy program to learn!

Premier will NOT offer what you want for creating the authored DVD. The author How-to tools that Touch64 mentions is a place to start looking.

I like DVD Workshop, but it is a little expensive, although about half what Premier is.

    Good luck and have fun.
    Thanks
