  1. I have an MPEG4 Divx LowMotion clip which I can't join to the other half cause it seems to be badly corrupted. I plays fine In WMP, and VIrtualDub, but when I use the bottom scrolling bar in VD to go certain frames, the file shows video which is off colour (lots of green and purple and blue) and off center (the right side of the screen is on the left and the left side is on the right with a line going thru the center dividing the different halves)

I tried DIvxFix, and the instructions on VirtualDub fix for divx, and they don't work, usually VD just crashes with a divx*.dll error. TMPGENC crashes also. I thought maybe StreamAnywhere would be able to convert it to .asf format (which I've done for every corrupted file then converted it back to .avi in VD) but it crashed too. As did RealProducerplus, as did RAD VIDEO TOOLS. I refuse to accept that this file can't be saved... if WMP can play it, there MUST be a way to repair it... or somehow capture the clear video that plays thru WMP... help.

  2. ...oh yeah, and WinMediaEncoder8 wouldn't work cause the video width is not a multiple of 4... but I can't resize it cause VirtualDub keeps crashing.

  6. Thanx. It works now and the video/VirtualDub doesn't crash, but the video is still messed up like I stated above... with the left on the right and the right on the left and a bar in middle, and the colour is messed. Will any filters or anything fix this. I could take a screenshot for you, but were could I post it?

Have you tried converting a little of it to VCD mpeg with TMPGEnc?. It may well be that the original is so badly damaged you may need to get another.

  8. I tried everything, tmpgenc, virtualdub, and everything in between. I gave up.

Thanx for the help though, and Virtualdub-mp3-thingy-fix will help me in the future.

What's the difference between 1.3c asf and 1.4 asf? Except that 1.4 asf is pretty rare.
