I used a piece of software called Simple Video Joiner, to join two videos. One video was 3.3gb, at 1 hour plus. The other video was like 26 minutes, and 1gb. After using the joining software, the resulting video says it's 4.6gb, but only 27 minutes long. How do i fix this so it will be the right duration to convert to a DVD? please let me know. thanks!

It sounds like it has put the short clip first and screwed the join.

What format is the video (source and result) ? There may be better tools to use.

They both were mpeg2, captured at 5mbps, with an Adstech DVD Xpress unit. They were made to be converted into DVD. I thought my trusty Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 would fix things. Unfortunately, i think i need to uninstall it and then reinstall it, because whenever i would try to multiplex the videos, the resulting .vobs would come out with a messed up A/V sync.

The strange thing about it is, the video plays ALL the way through, and correctly on the joined video. It plays on any mpeg viewer i have used, but it just says 27 minutes long. I have tried lots of freeware/trialware stuff to get the files to join together in the past week.

By the way, don't think i am cheap. I was going to buy some software online this weekend to do this. The trialware joiners i tried had limitations, and the freeware stuff was giving me all sorts of errors when loading both clips in. Then i found the Simple Video Joiner monday night, and it seemed to work, but now the timecode is screwed. Any ideas?

If you can demux the stream then you can use ReStream to re-write the timecodes

hi. I used Streamclip by Apple Computer, and it fixed things nicely. Everything is in order, and the video is 1 hr, 56 mins, like it should be. NOW, the problem i am having is in the "DVD Authoring" section. Maybe you could help. Go over there and check out my last mess i need to cleanup. lol

thanks for your suggestion on ReStream, by the way...
