Ive downloaded a film from the net, but the audio is SOO quiet it is VERY hard to hear. Is there anyway i can increase the volume?

Yes, use VirtualDub to duplicate the file but with enhanced audio.
1. Open the AVI in VirtualDub.
2. Select the 'Video' menu and select 'Direct Stream Copy'. (this means that the video stream will not be changed).
3. Now Select the 'Audio' menu and select 'Full Processing Mode'.
4. Select the 'Audio' menu again and select 'Volume'.
5. Tick the 'Adjust Volume for audio channels' option and adjust to the required volume (by default it doubles the volume). -
