All,
I have a DVD-R backup that works well with about the 1st 45 min on a Denon DVM3700. However, after that, it starts to skip and cause problems. Is there anything else that can be done to fix this problem (like any hacks, workarounds or suggestions that someone may offer)?
Thanks...

Check the DVD player compatibility list on the left of the page. If your player is listed as playing DVD-r's OK then the problem is the media/your authoring/your burning or some combination of the above.
On the other hand it could simply be that your player doesn't particularly like DVD-r's and struggles reading the outer parts of the disc more than the inner parts due to the higher linear velocity at this point. -
I already tried looking at the list. This particular brand (Denon DVM3700) was not listed. If anyone out there had any success or if they know of any fix, please let me know. Thanks...

One thing I always ask on topics like these: Do you have a sticky label on it? If so, that may be the problem. I have a few with labels, and they give random problems like that (mostly skipping). Ever since I got a thermal printer that prints directly on the DVDs, I haven't had the slightest problem.
