  1. Recently I have been trying to convert MPEG2 video captured by my TV card and convert it to MPEG 1 for VCD purposes. I Used DVD2AVI to make d2v files/wav. When I converted those with TMPGenc, I found that it worked perfectly on my computer. But when I put it to a VCD and play it on my DVD player, it is Choppy on certain parts and always on the same parts. I know how to convert Divx and make VCDs that work great on my DVD but I found out recently that My roomate also converted a Divx file and that one does the same thing as the MPEG2. If I take one of the MPEG1 that I just converted from MPEG2 and recovert it the same way, it is less quality but works fine. But I want good quality. I took one of the good quality videos and played it on a Sony DVD with Progressive scan and it worked fine, but when I played it on a Panasonic (which is known for its compatabilty) it didn't. I need to know if I am converting them wrong, if my DVD player sucks, if my burner is screwing up the video cause it works on the PC, or if it is possible for a VCD to be too good a quality. And by the way, all of my old Divx converted VCD's still work, so why don't they now. I know this has been long a drawn out but I have done a lot to try and figure it out myself and I need HELP!!! Thank you.
