  2. As far as I know, its not possible to make a Pioneer player region free by using the remote to enter a 'hack'.

    HOWEVER

If you check out my post titled:

All PIONEER Owners, want REGION FREE - w/no hardware mods?!?

You should be able to play DVDs from any other region.

PLEASE, PLEASE! Vote on the poll connected to my post, even if this doesn't work - no-one yet has even replied but as far as I can see, there are no other multiple-machine pioneer hacks apart from mine! Where's all my thanks?!? Just kidding!

  3. Hi,

I recently purchased a Pionner DV-355 (made by Pionner Thailand) unfortunately I was unable to play Region 2 DVD, Sound was correct but display was wonky and B/W. My current TV already played PAL DVD R2. using another player. I am located in the US.
I assume R1 & R3 are mostly NTSC format. Any experience of playing R2 DVD PAL?
    Did I miss something?

    Play Region 1 perfectly,
    Play Region 3 perfectly,

    Play R2

    See model at

    Thanks!
