  1. It seems there are major problems with this conversion. I am trying to get xvid to m2v to create vobs, but the resulting problems from tmpeg are crazy. I can play the file at normal speed, but it won't rewind or fast forward, when I jump the file on it goes "wonky" and thats it ruined. Then after creating vobs with this m2v file, the vobs play the video at 4 or 5 times normal speed, but the audio plays at normal.
I have also tried converting the xvid to divx and doing it that way but same results.

There are no errors in the video, the sound has been extracted to a wave file. I have tried converting in loads of ways (PAL, NTSC, changing resolution etc etc) all with the same results. Has anyone successfully converted this format??? I have searched everywhere and asked everywhere, a lot of people have the same kinds of troubles, is it a bug in tmpeg? is it a bug in the coding? Is it a bug in ifo edit? something is happening when trying to recode the xvid file in tmpeg and also when converting using virtualdub into divx (video goes ghostly at some points).

Thanks in advance for any response or workarounds.

I have managed to convert it into an mpeg2 file successfully using winproducer but the quality is awful....

  2. yes, xvids are very easy to convert w/ tmpge...
which file are you talking about?
are you using tmpge to author?
I only run avi-m2v in tmpg, select av as audio
source, but only choose vid output
I use besweet to convert wav to ac3
Then use spruceup to rejoin And author..

  3. File is the hours.
I am trying to convert the avi to m2v in tmpeg, I have tried doing it with seperate wave (extracted with avi to wav and then converted to wave with goldwave), from the avi, just ripping the video etc. Something is wrong with it, believe me, have tried everything

I want to convert to m2v so I can then create vobs with ifo edits authoring, it does create them but they play at 4 or 5 times normal speed.
