  1. Alright...I've got three of their programs....

DVD Workshop: I try to drop my avi files in and let WS do its thing and convert. I've recently converted 8 / 200mb (23min) files and set up a menu...the result: episode 3 is 4 seconds out of sync, episode 6 loses all audio after 16 minutes, episode 8 is 15 seconds out of sync. The menus look nice, but nearly half of my video files are messed up

DVD Movie Factory: No real problems. It's just a little inconvenient because I have to re-encode all my movies to mpg2 format. Not much flexability when it comes to the menu...I like to set things up, go to bed, wake up the next morning and play my new DVD

DVD Movie Factory 2: Finally added the drop in for my avi's, but even when I set the bitrate as low as possible, the same 200mb files that I can encode in TMPGEnc to ~420mb end up being just over a gig I'm putting 8, 420mb episodes on each disk, so the gig/episode thing isn't gonna work for me.

The Question: Am I just missing something here? I would give up a little flexability when it comes to the menu if I can just get the audio problems figured out. After spending nearly $750 (burner and Ulead products), I'm left like I can't trust their products...arggg....can someone please help me out before I fling this crazy computer out of the window???

  2. From my experience like you every one of there products is flawed. I still have MovieFactory2 on my drive but it's for the most part useless. All I use it for is VHS capture the rest of the program is broken.

  3. why did you purchase the products before testing them?? if i am correct Ulead has a trial for there products...i sure as heck would have done that before i bought them...i have tried their trials and found none to suit my needs...there are alot of people that don't like them and alot of people that do...i still use their photo express product that came with my scanner...so its just a matter of what people like....but i would always look for a trial before i bought......

I have all 3 as well, and i must say that i have had no problems whatsoever in using them, although in saying that, i don't use Workshop or UleadMF2 to convert avi's to DVD,

That process is better being done by a proper MPEG2 encoder like CCE.

I'll tell you what, i have I Spy in Xvid format here, i 'll use Movie factory 2 to convert it. I will come back and update this post if i have any problems at all.
