  1. I downloaded an avi clip encoded with Divx 5.01. The clip is 123,000 KB in size. When I try to encode it to dvd compliant mpeg2 using the ntsc template in Tmpegenc Plus, the resulting mpeg2 is over 4 gigs. This is using the standard 2000 bitrate setting.

I don't understand how the resulting mpeg2 can be so large, any ideas from anyone on converting to a different avi using another codec before encoding to mpeg2?

    Thanks.

  4. YES, THAT IS RIGHT....

To be mpeg2 compliant, it should be around 4 gigs
dont forget audio ac3=200mg wav=1200 or less
    whichevr you choose...

If your video bitrate is 4500-5000, it should come
out at about 4000mg or so,depends if vbr or not
    might be higher...
