I am using the Hauppauge 250 card to convert my video tape collection. This card does not seem to be affected by Macrovision. This card has copied video tapes that the Panasonic E30 and Phillips 985 standalone DVD recorders said were copyrighted. The video quality at 6 Mbps (Long DVD play mode) is also flicker free and the audio is in sync throughout the movie playback. I burned the movies on to Memorex DVD-R from BestBuy with Ulead Movie Factory and played them back on a Cyberhome 402.

That's one of the reasons I bought the PVR250 so I could archive some of my purchased VHS movies and not worry about macrovision.
