Vdub locks up computer

while using vdub v1.5.1 to scan stream for errors the progress got over half way then just stopped, locking up my computer, had to re-boot. happened twice with 2 different avi files. have plenty of power (1.13 ghz athlon) few programs running etc etc, also had tmpgenc recently get over half way and lock everything up, this i thought maybe was because of other stuff running or a fluke until it happened with vdub, anyone experience this?.....later

found the problem. i had changed the VAFPI settings in tmpgenc in order to work with a XVID file and didnt change them back to the way i had them before.
