Try keeping only one chip in, if it still crashes try only the other, that would be my personal step one.

  8. well it is true that board will take a 2200+,but when buy a board you have to flash the bios for it to support it.
there is a bios update (F7) that will support xp2000+ so you will have to flash F7 or F8.

  13. look in the manual,it should say or at least tell you where the jumper is.
well its next to the battery.
    unplug the computer
there may be three pins.the jumper is on two of them .00 <-like that
move it over like this->00. for a second
then move it back like it was.
plug it back in and go into the bios to change the clock speed.

If that doesn't work make sure no unneeded cards in in the system, try switching video cards if you have an extra, and if still a no go. Then its time to investigate if your chip or you board one is bad.

    Mark845,
Are you trying to install on an existing installation, or is it a new hard drive?
If it's a new drive, is it fdisked and formatted properly?
If you had XP on this drive, was it working properly?
If not, are you able to wipe out the Windows folder completely, and try again?
You should NOT have to update your BIOS. It is a good idea to do so, especially if it's a version 1.0, but it will work from the box.
You probably should go into the BIOS now and set it to default settings, install, and if you get it running, you can tweak things here and there.
The only thing you might have to do in BIOS is detect HDDs, and today, boards even autodetect that.
If setup crashes, it usually has a corrupted Wininsto.400 folder, 98 does anyhow, and when I have this problem, I set the drive up as slave to a running system and delete the folder. If I don't, it keeps crashing. I learned that the hard way.
Also, if it crashes with a different message each time, it may be going further each time, and eventually finish.
By the way, I have a GA-7ZXE, and had no problem with my AMD 2000 XP processor. It ran flawlessly. Mine runs Win98 and Win 2kPro dual boot.
