Way back when, I bought the anime Gunbuster...on VHS.
Recently, I bought the DVD Gunbuster movie from a HK source.
The audio and video are great, but the subtitles are completely unreadable. Is there a way to rip the subs off the DVD, drop them into SuperStation Alpha and edit the text, then remux everything back together?
The ONLY thing that I'm looking to do is alter what the text says...
Will I have to re-timestamp the subs?

Try SubRip.
It's under the subtitle section on this page:
