You can use DVD Extractor to rip, and Quicktime Pro to convert, using the .PICT picture scheme to fool QTPro into downsampling the MPEG-2 video. Author in DVD Studio Pro for DVD. SVCD creation in OS 9 is harder, and VCD creation can be done with the Toast export component or with the no longer available commercially product M.Pack.

I wrote down my steps a little while ago, at https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138950
I think I have the image dimensions a little off, but they're close. Also check the guides on tgpo's site. Back in the dark days of having to convert everything to Quicktime first, those OS 9 guides taught me a lot. -
I don't see how I can export to Mpeg-2 I only see the option for Mpeg-4.
And when i drag the .m2v file on the black window that i created with the pict file will I be able to see the movie??

hmmm ... you say you're running OS 9.2.2 on your machine!?!?
I heared the only machines which also accept OSx are able to run OS 9.2.2.
For older MACs than original G3s and up the latest version of the classic OS you only can install is 9.1.
So whats the model of your machine?!!?!? If its G3 or a G4 make yourself happy by installing OSx on a seperate partition to run OSx apps. like ffmpgx cause OS 9.x is definitely much more complicate to do a good MPEG-work than OSx!
