Hello forum,

Now I am just guessing, but I think when a movie is made they have the musical score, the dialogue and the sound effects each on their own separate tape or disk or whatever. I am also guessing that these three components are combined by the time we see any DVDs.

What I am hoping to learn is a way to extract the recorded film score. Is there a way to extract just the musical score to the exclusion of the dialogue and the sound effects (like footsteps and so on)?

Some DVDs have a menu option that allows you to play "music only" and that is just what happens. No dialogue. No special sound effects. Just the video footage and the music is all that plays. You wouldn't normally look at the video. The film score is full musical soundtrack of the film which often runs much longer than the usual CD soundtrack you buy in the store.

Is there any hope for me?

Thank you.
