I see the guy below has posted a similar question, but I have a pioneer dv350 which will not play ISO files.
I have about 8 mpeg1 files around 400 mb each. I would like to put them on a dvd, with each being a separate chapter. I don't want to have to convert to MPEG2, unless there is a really quick progam to do this.
Is there anyway I can make a sortof dvd / vcd hybrid? Basically I want a simple menu, with buttons to link to each mpeg file.
Any suggestions to software? I tried spruceup, but it would not accept the mpeg1 files.
Thanks people.

This is very easy to do, but does require some processing. I normally use DVD Maestro to Author my DVDs so I'm not sure what Spruce Up can and can not do.
However, 352x240 MPEG1 video files are part of the DVD standard, all you'll need to do is re-encode the audio from 44.1khz to 48khz. The above guide walks you through all the steps.
At 400MB each you should be able to get all 8 videos on one DVDR. There will be no quaility improvement, but then there will be zero quaility lost too.
You'll have to make the menu youself thouI think that Ulead DVD Workshop has some 'auto menu' features but I'm not sure. Making you own menus in Maestro isn't that hard (there are guides at doom9.org). Luck...

lo m8
do a seach for my username on this forum and u will find a guide that uses ifoedit and doesn't require any re-encoding......wulf started the guide and i added my 2ps worth to it.
don't have the link handy..sorry -
The 'problem' with IFOEdit is that it only allows you to author one file. This guy has 8 files, and merging them into one huge file (eg. in TMPGenc) often causes sync problems.
You don't have to re-encode the video, just demux the MPG -> m1v + mp2/mpa and re-encode the AUDIO from 44.1khz to 48khz. Although some authoring programs will let you burn with 44.1khz audio most won't (your right IFOEdit wil) and some standalone DVD players also have trouble playing discs that are non-standard.
