Read the guides. Here's a tip, most kazaa movies are corrupt, you need to fix that first or it will crash while encoding.

  4. you will need to install the DivX codec to encode with tmpeg this codec allows your computer to understand the encoding of the file that u have.
When software like Tmpeg asked for codecs to be installed they are advising that they do not have the codec needed to read the file perhaps u should read this sites page on encoding DivX to SVCD or VCD its alittle more complecated than simply encoding with tmpeg if the frame rate is 23.976 or 24 you will need to either select a template that matches the file frame rate or adjust the frame rate this applys to the audio as well or you will end up with a file that jumps when played please read the help section to save making coasters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the simplest fixes for converting DivX is to separate the audio from the video and encode that way. You can use DVD2AVI to extract the audio (or whatever tool you're comfortable with), then choos the complete AVI as the video source, and the extracted audio as the audio source.

    STOP!

Sheesh. Over on the left, under How To, where it says Newbie, read it. This will save you a lot of flaming, and maybe 3 days of wasted encoding. You are trying to run before you can crawl.

  9. STOP yourself.

When I was a newbie I tried all those newbie guides & how too's. A lot of them are out dated. Using previous versions of software making it almost imposible to follow them, step by step.

Don't be so quick to cast people aside.
