  1. I received several mpg clips from a client and everything displays fine on his computer. However when I view them on mine, the status bar moves quicker than it should so the clip cuts off before it is supposed to end. So a 20 minute clip turns into 2 minutes for example. The sound moves at the same speed as the video so they are in proper sync. I tried using windows media player and several other players but they all do the same thing. Could there be something wrong with my mpg codec? Nobody in the office has seen this happen before I if anyone here has some suggestions, please let me know.

    Thanks.

  2. Probably it's your codec. What kind of Mpeg files are you talking about, Mpeg-1, Mpeg-2, Mpeg-4, etc. I think I had a similar problem with Windows Media Player playing Mpeg-2 files. Media Player tends to use Ligos Mpeg Decoder for mpg files, but I find this decoder to be a pain in the butt. Have you tried using WinDVD (You could download a trial if you haven't tried it)? Handles many formats and is pretty consistent.
