I got Ice Age DVD that has both: Widescreen and Full screen versions of the movie on the same disk. How do I chose Full screen copy? I want to make a backup onto VCD/SVCD. Tried using SmartRipper but it rips Widescreen copy.

    I'm pretty new at this.
    Any help would be apreciated,
    Thanx.

  3. It should be the the second largest TITLE

    Here is an example

    Title 3 (3247MB)
    Title 4 (3101MB)

Both are the same length in time. I think smartripper automatically uses the first (also largest) file at start up (which is the wide screen version).

In order to do what you want there must be a
    + next to Title 3
    - next to Title 4
    - next to Program Chain 1 (under Title 4)
Then highlight (click on) Angle 1
Now look under Total Selection Box and you will see the same file size as Title 4 (in this example it says 3101MB)

If you look to the right of the screen under video info it will show you aspect ratio 4:3 (3 line under video info)

    Hope This helps.

Try it and see post back and let me know how you made out.

  4. If the files are ripped you can play them with any number of file playing apps including media player.

    Thank you VCD4ME !!!

I got it, it happened to be Title 8; Program Chain 2; Angle 1.

Gonna rip it one of these days and prolly dump it onto VHS as my daughter has a VCR in her bedroom. Yeap, only one DVD here, unlike some ppl on this forum

    THANX again!!!

  6. LOL Dubber,

The example I gave you was for :
    Kermit The Frog's - Swamp Years .

I am going to rip that for my 5 year old son (It was sitting on my desk when I read your post)

It seems like a lot of childrens movies have both widescreen and full screen.
I rip my vcds in widescreen for future viewing

I hope she'll let my get that new widescreen tv soon .

I am surprised that it was Title 8. There must be a lot of previews before the main movie or something like that. I have the Ice Age dvd, I'll look later.

Now the funniest thing is that we have more kids movies on dvd than we do movies for ourselves. My son likes the games and other extras that the dvds have. I don't complain the price of a dvd is only a few dollars more. Well you know the old saying is vcrs/dvd players are the best babysitters, speaking of that my son is being very quiet I better go check on him.

Glad I could help with your babysitting problem LOL

    Talk to you later
