    DVDMaestro 2.9 doesn't recognise my Sony DRU-500A.

I went to the Spruce site, but didn't really find anything on updates.

Are there any updates that support this?

Or people using a Sony with DVDMaestro? Which built do you have then?

  2. I believe Apple bought the company so the product is no longer updated, what people do is create the files and then burn them with RecordMax/Nero/whatever

  3. Yeah, since the DRU500a/x came out some time after Spruce technologies stopped development on Maestro, it's no surprise it's not supported.

The solution is to click on "Compile" in the toolbar (icon that looks like a barcode) and select a destination; it will create a VIDEO_TS folder in the folder you specify. Then, just drag that folder to a Nero DVD compilation or whatever your favorite burning program may be.

The reason I wanted to burn with DVDMaestro is that I having too many problems with Nero. Succesfull burns not discs are not recognized by some players, etc...

I was looking for other soft to burn DVDR's.

I re-installed Nero 5.5.9.17 now, I remember having no problems with that version.

There is more than one way to burn a DVD that works in ALL players. This is what works for me:

    1. Author and compile with Maestro.
    2. Create .ISO image either with Maestro or IfoEdit which is faster.
    3. Burn .ISO file with DVD Decrypter.

Step #2 adds a few extra minutes to the whole process but I have NO problems in ANY DVD player or PC with the DVD's that I create. I use Nero 5.5.9.17 to do DVD to DVD copy with no problems.

Find out what works for you and do it!
