  1. I recently tried to put several vcd mpeg files (ntsc) onto a dvdr. I converted them with tmpeg to have 48khz audio, and they play back normally. After authoring with MovieFactory 2 (with a menu) and burning the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders with Nero UDF/ISO format, when I try to play the video with my software dvd player, I get very choppy video but the audio stays normally. Usually, the video will freeze for a few seconds, then jump around trying to catch up to the audio, and after a while it goes out of sync.

However, when I tried the dvdr on my standalone, it seems to work at least pretty well. The very beginning of each segment seems to be a little choppy, but after that it seemed to stay in sync.

Is there anything I can do to correct this behavior on my PC?

I am using a DVR-105 burner on Memorex dvd-r media.

  2. Not sure what the technical reason is but I find that if I have something else going on in the background I normally get choopy video especially on high quality file but then it catches itself up, so to speak.

Normally if a complicated web page is loading, or moving/copying a file around on my system then this happens.

Im running a PIII 700 with 128meg ram. dunno how this compares to your spec.
