  1. well im using my FAV program TMPGEnc. (rocks). I have a xvid that is 640 x 352 and 23.976 FPS. I want to encode it to either a svcd or vcd (pal or NTSC). my question is, which format (svcd/vcd and pal/ntsc) would be best to maintain the Aspect Ratio. Also, which aspect ratio setting should i use? 4:3 16:9? 1:1 vga?

    any help would be apprechiated

    thanks

Test if you're DVD player can handle Xvcd's..... if so you can keep the high res when converting...... I do like this and; very good quality vcd's....
When burning with Nero...... ( if original res is been kept ) ignore warning, just burn it.....to make Xvcd) Try it.

Ok.............then these are the basics to work with, but keep in mind that when you want to change 4:3 / 16:9 settings...... some things will change; check the forums for this.
    DVD - 720x480, 352x480, 352x240
    VCD – 352x240
    SVCD 480x480
    CVD – 352x480

  5. whenever I make and SVCD I just use the same settings it tmpgenc that are in the avi. For example if its 640x272 then i use that for tmpgenc and i use full screen (not keep aspect ratio). then after i burn with nero and put in my DVD player it plays full screen and reads it as an SVCD.
