    i am trying to do a dvd rip. Tmpgenc will not recognaise a d2v file and i don't kbow how to get it to work please help

    sounds like you are trying to use tmpgenc to rip the movie??? well it doesn't do that. Go here http://entiendo.gotnet.net and look at the dvd ripping instructions there..
