  1. Well from read my past post you all ready know I had problem with Khpermedia and Memorex DVD-R also want to state that Khpermedia and Memorex and the same just labeled under a differnent name. I brought back my DRU500AX at CircuitCity. First one was bought on line from circuitcity.com second just brought it back to the store for another one. Test it at my friend's house that has the Dru500A with the first firmware and his can burn any thing you put in the drive so I hook it up to a fireware case and ran a test burn at 2X no problem's. When I got home I hook it up to IDE 2 and made it slave. I know it has to be master but I want to see how it work's under slave. Did another test at 2X crashed at 99%. Did antoher test at 1X no problem. These Kpermedia and Memorex are really 1X DVD-R my pioneer AO4 only read's them at 1X the DRU500AX see's them as 2X. if seem's that at my friend's house with the firewire case and 2000 RPM's a super dell server that it does burn at 2X hkpermedia. I will try hooking it up to master and see that happen's. If you get one that can not burn Hkpermedia or Memorex bring it back get another one. Oh by the way Sony software suck's egg's it can mess up your PC do not install that crap. Sony Tech Support Suck's also. All you get is Grand MA on the phone saying you might have Spy Wear on you PC and that can make the Dru500AX well I do not have spy wear. I just format the hard drive still crashing. Any way I glad I have a working DRU500AX but I hate sony

  2. Just want to make a update. Took the DRU500AX hook it to IDE 2 master and can now burn Khpermedia at 2X one IDE 2 when hook up as slave it can only burn Kpermedia at 1X. Kpermedia and Memorex are the DVD-R you want to get to test out the DRU500AX
