    Hi All,

Any advice before choosing one of these cards?
I found the VITEC DCM for 280 and the PVR for 140...

I got the Vitec DCM and this card is awesome!

After only 5 minutes after signing the UPS papers I was capturing in MPEG2! Extremely straight forward. Excelent instructions. This card does only one thing and does it perfectly. It came with a lot of cables!

It has real tume contrast/brightness/saturation settings. It even has a blanking option to eliminate the bottom lines from a VHS.

I bought it yesterday from BernClare (Canada) and got it (Puerto Rico) for only $25. The people at BernClare are excellent.

    A really sad update!

This card is awesome if you use the presets (vcd, svcd, xvcd and dvd) if you want to capture using a different resolutions (352x480) or even decrease the suggested bitrate by 1, you will get mpeg arifacts when playing the file in your DVD player (Panasonic).

    I have tried all!

Change OS (from windows 2000 to windows xp)
Tried all the GOPs (from 4 to 18)
Tried separating video and audio during capture.

    Regards,
    Jose Febus
