  1. I d/l a film and when i open it i have a clock at the bottom left hand corner is there away of removing it

  5. go to virtualdub.org and click on the filters link on the left, follow the link at the top of the page and it will take you to a site dedicated to hosting filters. an easier way would to just crop the video, virtualdub does not come with a cropping tool, at least not that i know of, but you can download one at the same place where you find the de logo tool.

    since it is a smpte time code burn in - its prob. a work print and its not really a logo -- i.e. the clock keeps ticking .. you would have to just mask it out or crop it as was suggested ..

    may look better to keep it in -- anyway work prints are not finest quality anyway so what does it mater if there is a time code burn in ..

    I thought most work prints had the timecode in the center of the bottom of the screen, not a lower corner...

    I was thinking that this might be a home-video that had been d/l'd, and the vid had the clock set to visible (a mistake I made in recording some concert footage - doh!)

    virtual dub does have a cropping filter built in its called the null transform. it does nothing to the film except allow you to crop it.
