I downloaded and played all the files in the guide and about half of them are not working properly. Which was to be expected, since some of the .avi-files I have on my computer can't be played or converted to .mpg either.
My question is: what do I do now? How do I find out which codecs are missing and more importantly where do I find those codecs?
Oh, and they have to be Windows XP compatible, I think that's my biggest promblem, because most of the codecs I used to have (mostly packages like Nimo or Crystal) can't be installed anymore. Not even the divx package.

Download gSpot and open the avi´s whith it.
It will tell you what codecs are needed. 8)"I´m not popular enough to be different" -
Thanks, Rambo! Just what is gSpot and where can I get it? Is it similar to BeSweet? Because I got that some time ago when I had another codec problem but I can't figure out how to use it properly. I don't know much about codecs except that I have to install them when I want to play or convert a file
