  1. Has anyone tried to backup the 24 DVD? It has multiple episodes on it and I can't seem to get it all. I've ripped with Smartripper, just the vob files and the ifo files needed.

When I try to use DVD2one it just grabs one episode, not all four. If I use DVD2one to get all 4 saving in different folders everytime, it ends up being too big for one DVD.

    Any suggestions?

Tv episode DVD's generally use one ifo file to control player operation. If you want to copy all with menus, there's a freeware program called Make-It-Easy that when used in conjunction with DVD2ONE allows copying to a DVD-R. The episodes are stored as individual PGC's in the ifo file that's why DVD2ONE sees only one episode

    Hope this is clear.

1.) Rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter in file mode so you get al files

2.) Look at the file structure in Explorer, you need to identify the main vob files.
They appear as a series of 7 or 8 vob's,that's the actual episodes

3.) Move those vob's to a directory named "Source"

4.) You should keep Make-It-Easy open thru-out this process. Start Make-It-Easy and navigate to the sourcdirectoy you created, select the first vob.

5.) In version 0.15 put in the size of the menu extras, that will be the remaining file size of the
directory where you ripped the DVD after you move the vob's to the source directory.

6.) Make-It-Easy will then fill in the amunt of padding needed, click Pad Original Vob Set.

7.) Make-It -Easy will add the padding to the vob's in your source directory.

8.) Now that your source directoy is padded you need to create ifo files for the new vob's so they can be opened in DVD2ONE.

9.) Open IFOEDIT and Create IFO Files, navigate to the sourcdirectory and select the first vob and click O.K.
IFOEDIT will create four ifo files for your source directory.

10.) Look at files IFOEDIT created, they must all use the same VTS number, for example the ifo files will be VTS_01
but the vob files will probably be VTS_02. Change the ifo files to VTS_02,this is required to open the source directory in DVD2ONE.
Start DVD2ONE and select the source directory as your source, create a directory called Destination on your HD
Use that directory as the destination directory in DVD2ONE

11.) Run DVD2ONE to trancode the vob files.

12.) Select the Destination directory in Make-It-Easy,Step #4 "Remove Padding" and click remove padding.

13.) Open your destination directory and look at the vob files after the padding has been removed.
They must use the same name as your original vob files. The files in your destination directory will be VTS_01.
But the files in your source directory will probably be VTS_02. Rename the files in destination directory to VTS_02.

14.) Move the vob files from your destination directory and put the in the directory where ripped the DVD.

15.) In Make-It-Easy goto step #5,open the original ifo file from the directory you ripped the DVD to.
It will probably be VTS_02_0.IFO and click update.

The way i rip episodes goes like this.
rip episode 1 to a folder called ep 1, use stream processing and demux to a sperate video and audio file.
    the same for ep2 etc.
if it's 22min eps (half hour american shows, friends simpsons etc) you can fit 4 on a DVD disc, 44 min eps (one hour american tv shows, x files star trek etc.) you can fit two, or if it's english 30 minute shows (the office, league of gentlemen etc.) you can fit three.
so if it was simpsons, i would open dvdit, drop in the video and audio of episodes 1-4, and let it author then burn the disc. no re-encoding/transcoding required, takes about 20 mins to author.

15.) In Make-It-Easy goto step #5,open the original ifo file from the directory you ripped the DVD to.

I have had poor luck with this step when copying an episodic DVD like "24".

What I've done is use IFOUpdate in "adjusted cell mode". It worked fine, though I still had to correct subtitle color.

  8. After i rip the Simpsons DVD i got 8 vob files and VOB 1 to 7 are 0.99 GB and vob 8 only 343MB so i guess VOB from 1 to 7 are the main one and i move them to the source dir ... did everything, go fine and on step 14, if i copy all the vob files from destination directory to the folder where i ripped the DVD ... what should i do with the VOB_08 that i left... rename or delete it ? Thanks alot for your help

** After i move all the vob ( vob_1 to vob_8 ) I guess they all the main vob files. And the only thing got left is the IFO files so in step 5 tell me to put the size the remaining file size of the orginal dir and the IFO file only 130KB... what should i put on Extra Size ????
