Can't launch apps in OSX

I'm running a G4, Dual 500 with OS 9.2 and OS 10.1. I've downloaded various apps for use in SVCD burning, and have run into a problem with a larger file. Following the links I've found here, I've downloaded MMB and a few others. I've been using VCDtoolsX and VLC for converting/viewing respectively, and they've worked fine. My problem, is with these new apps:

MMB
FFmpeg
MMT

anytime i click on them to launch, the dock expands for a brief second (like it's going to launch), then contracts and nothing happens. All of these apps behave the same way - looks like its going to open, then nothing. I'm not getting any error messages either. I've looked into the ITunes v2 issue, but I'm running ITunes 1.1.

Any ideas on how I can get these apps to work?

OS 10.1 is likely the problem.. most software written now for all of this usually only supports os 10.2+ -- its really a worthwhile upgrade

Sorry, I have no way to compile under 10.1.5 anymore.
However, I have a mirror site with some early version of MMB & MMT.
You might find they will work on 10.1.x.
