I downloaded a movie which is about 85 mins long. How do I either split it into 2 CDs or squeeze it onto one.

    Thanks in advance

I suggest you at least read the newbie guides before posting. It would have saved you the time you lost waiting for this reply.
    Hello.

  3. If your CD writer supports 90 minute CD-Rs, you could buy 90 minute CD-R blanks and burn to that

VCDhelp has Sefy's guide (http://www.vcdhelp.com/cdwriters), also the Feurio web site (http://www.feurio.de/English/Writerdb/direcselection.shtml) has information on a lot of CD writers, and they may tell if your writer supports it (and what the max CD the writer can do).

Otherwise split with TMPGEnc MPEG Tools cut (rightmost tab, be sure to pick MPEG1 VCD from the dropdown). to get two files

  4. Although I agree with furdog, I don't know how relevent it is for you, if you
want to "squeeze" 85min into an 80min, you have two options as I can see:

    1. Reduce Audio Bitrate to 128k, will make the movie small enough, but it is
not going to be standard, however it will play on just about all DVD Players.

    2. Use an X(VCD) Template variant (like my own SxVCD/SeVCD), this will
however require your DVD Player to be capable of handling such a format.

  6. Why lose part of the movie if just a simple Audio Bitrate reduction can fix the
problem and make the entire movie fit easily ?
