NEED CONVERSION FOR MPG TO AVI/DIVX TO PLAY IN DIVX PLAYER

Hi I download some video files and they are in MPG format. I have WINDVD but that doesnt work or it stalls(demo time runnout). I want to be able to play the files in DIVX Player but it says not right format.

Can someone give me the name of or a link to a converter for MPG>DIVX/AVI??

You said MPG, that can be more than one thing. SVCD, VCD, Other?

if it is mpeg - there are many options in playing them - including windows media player..

better than converting anyway -- since to convert them you still would have to be able to read them - therefore you would be able to watch them ..
