Use Gspot (tools section) on your files, it will tell you what codecs are required and if they're installed.

Go to the Tools section, over there <<<<<<<.
Find and download Gspot under "other useful tools." Install it, run it, load your movie into it, read the results! It tells you what codecs were used in your movie and if you have them installed on your system.
