For VCDEasy Version 1.1.4 and later: On the "Main" (S)VCD page, in the bottom margin second block from the right does it seem to indicate a valid ASPI layer (will probably say Nero ASPI, or Adaptec ASPI and a version number) ? If it does not seem to indicate a valid ASPI layer, on that same page, can you select an ASPI layer on the "CD Writer" line towards the top of the page? If it lets you select then select an ASPI layer, close and then open the program and check the bottom margin again. If there are no selections then I suggest you go to: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm , download the ForceASPI drivers, install them and reboot. If after you reboot, it seems to indicate a valid ASPI layer, then on the CDRDAO settings page, select generic-mmc as the force driver for the CD Writer, select your specific CD Writer in the dropdown menu for that section and check the force execution box. Now you should be able to burn using CDRDAO, which is the CD burning program built in to VCDEasy

For VCDEasy Versions prior to 1.1.4: In VCDEasy, in the bottom right corner, does it say ASPI seems valid: yes, or ASPI seems valid: no? If it says ASPI seems valid: no, that is your main problem. In that case I suggest you go to: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm , download the ForceASPI drivers, install them and reboot. If after you reboot, it shows "ASPI seems valid: yes" then on the CDRDAO settings page, select generic-mmc as the force driver for the CD Writer, select your specific CD Writer in the dropdown menu for that section and check the force execution box. Now you should be able to burn using CDRDAO, which is the CD burning program built in to VCDEasy.
