I've been using DVDx to TMPGenc for most of my ripping because my I only have about 4gb space available. I'm fairly happy with the results but would also like to try out alternative methods. In one of the ripping guides available here, it says that the program "easyvcd" also can rip directly from DVD. I've downloaded it and it looks interesting, but before I click on the rip button, I'd like to know if my 4gb hd space will be enough for a 2 hour movie. Also, can you do your own cropping or zoomming with this program? I clicked on the rip button once and there was no abort so had to to the alt'cntr'del to stop. It looks like a fairly easy program but if I don't have enough space I'll stick with DVDx.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi There,
Eazy VCD will rip the vob files to you HDD first so 4gig won't be enough.
I recoment that you have at least 10gig free.
Sorry about that.
as for cropping and zooming..... No there isn't any of these functions.
I wrote Eazy VCD to more or less, save all the bullshit that comes with ripping DVD's, Eazy VCD is designed to rip the movie "As Is" without all the confusing functions and options. I am thinking about putting in "Advanced options" for those of us that like to play around a bit with the settings, but this won't be for a while yet as I don't have a lot of spare time.

Thanks for the info Rob.
I just decided to go out an buy a 40gb HD anyway. Only $75 and I'm going to need it if I want to do some serious ripping. I'll probably use some other tools as I like to have a bit more control. Nice program, keep up the good work.
