Anyone know the correct settings in TMPGenc to make a compliant CVD?

Or a good(official?) template for TMPGenc to make a CVD with?

I hear it would be good to make stuff in CVD format.Because they are about the same as SVCDs,except they are also DVD complaint and can be easily put onto a DVD-R with no re-encodeing of the video/audio necessary.

    Star Warrior:

CVD? Just take any SVCD template that you like and just change the resolution.

Puertorican138 has some good CVD templates in the tools section at www.vcdhelp/tools There is one parameter that is not compliant in Puertorican138's templates. He has them set for 48k audio, but it's easy enough to change it to 44.1k audio to make it entirely CVD compliant.

Thats weird....is'nt one of the reasons why SVCD can't be put onto DVD-R,is the audio? Because SVCD is at 44.1Khz and not 48Khz?

So if i'd ever plan on putting any CVDs onto DVD-R later on.I'm pretty sure i'd need them to be at 48Khz.Right?

star warrior: Load the svcd template and then open the settings and click on the Size-text and choose unlock and change to 352 x 480 / 576. Or load the unlock template in the template\extra folder to unlock all default svcd settings.

Yes, choose 48khz if you are planning to put it on DVD-R. But try first a short CVD test with 48 khz and see if it works fine on your dvd player.
