  1. Not sure where 'ancillary' DVD, Mac-specific topics belong... ?

Just got a Cyberhome 500, and wanted to test the slideshow feature.

I got a CD I'd burned months ago of digital pics (from my Canon Elph), and
plopped it in. I ended up on the nav menu which showed every file TWICE...
but of course only one of the files was legit, but with a 5s slideshow interval I
kept getting pic for 5 sec, followed by "illegal file format" for 5 sec...

I burned the disc in the Finder, so I'm assuming its Mac/PC Hybrid, possibly
extended format (I really wish they had not changed the naming of the CD types
in Finder burn in 10.2.. I preferred the old geekier explantions).

I'm wondering if the double files could be a resouce fork vs. data fork issue,
and or something to do with the disc being hybrid? does it end up with a
dual directory structure? I know the full files aren't there twice, not enough room
on the CD for that to have happened.

I did bring it up in the Terminal, and with 'ls' I did not see the files listed twice... but then
again I wouldn't put it past Apple to muck with the unix binaries and "hide" these files?

Just grasping at straws here I realize, but looking for ideas.

    Thanks!
    Mike

  2. ls does not show the resource fork of files, but if you write
    ls -l */rsrc
then all files with resource forks are listed

(ps. i have no clue to why the files are doubled)
