You will only fit about 4.38 GB on a recordable DVD (called dvd-5).

  5. should fit fine, although Ipersonally use Primo, which i've done 8 DVDs with no problems at all...... I'm sure Nero should work, it must be an improper setting, although why not use recordNOW or Primo which both seem to do a better job then Nero...

    Mark,

I had the same problem with DVD2ONE ripping "Bourne Identity" which originally the movie was 6.6 gigs with all the audio and subtitles. It brought it down to 4.38 gigs which Nero said it was too big to burn. I ran the NEW vobs through DVD2ONE with all the audio and subtles again and it was 4.3 gigs and burned ok. looked great!!!

May be a bug... don't know.

  7. I did a backup of LOTR and it was 4.37 G , after DVD2ONE was finished. I used Nero to burn with No problems on ACCU DVD-r with a Sony 500a. What is your media options set on?

I would say it is nero. I have done some of the movies that other people have done and had no problem, the big diff being I did not use nero, But I do use nero sometimes so i am not saying nero sucks, it is great, just do not use it for dvd.

The first set of files I tried to burn added up to 4.705 gigs as Nero reported (windows explorer says it's 4.38 gigs). After running them trough dvd2one again, they added up to 4.689 gigs (windows 4.36 gigs) and burned fine.

I tried 'Blood Work' and every thing went smooth the first time. Nero reported the total files as 4.677 gigs (windows 4.36 gigs).

I believe dvd2one is tring to use all the disk space possible and miscalculates by a few megs. It's still an amazing program.

I totally agree i must of burnt around 80 dvd's with nero and while they all played fine on my 2 set-top dvd players they stop and freeze on my PS2 and as for the XBOX that didn't even recognise them never mind play them..Now 1st burn with recordnow max 4.10 and voila works on everything even XBOX..So for all people out there burning dvd's with nero i suggest moving on to recordmax now because when u come to change dvd player your more likely to have compatible problems with your dvd's if burnt with nero........

  15. I recomend using ImgTool and DVD Decrypter to burn your discs instead of using nero. Ever since I started using image files my dvd player hasn't had problems reading the discs.
