Hello, I recently converted an xvid movie with Ulead Movie Factory 2...the movie is in widescreen with black bars on top and bototm. However, the movie mf2 created had the movie streched/fullscreen and everything looked thin. Anybody know how i can fix this? Thanks,
Nick

Don't use moviefactory to convert letterboxed movies. It can't keep the aspect ratio(adding black borders).
If you are lucky you can make the dvd anarmophic(so it stretches the dvd to correct ratio) without having to reconvert it again. But then the source must be 16:9, it wont work with 1:2.35 ratio. What resolution did your source have? -
Use TMPGEnc, change the environmental settings, VFAPI Plug-ins, find "DirectShow" and higher the priority to 2. Then go back and load your movie (load movie AFTER--otherwise it will crash). Click "Load" and load the DVD (NTSC).mcf, then do it again, Click "load" and click the "Extra" folder and click "unlock". Then CLick on "Settings" (next to load) and change the Aspect ratio. Now for the Aspect Ratio, If your movie is NOW in 16:9, click 16:9, now if you want, just do like 5 sec of the movie in different aspect ratios to see which one you want. This is SUPER easy, and FAST, and it WONT give you a streach screen.
