    Hi guys,

In TMPGEnc ->Enviromental Setting ->CPU - Cache Setting.

If I check this box (Saves analyzing result of multi pass VBR to cache) would it make 2 pass VBR encoding faster? As the first pass is saved.

Thanks for your reply, but could you tell me the best size cache? Or should I stick with the default of 4096mb. I've got an 80GB partition to play with.

  4. I've been converting home video using 2 pass highest quality with the cache setting at 8192. It normally takes 6-8 hours on my P4 2.4 to convert 35 minutes of video.

With the cache setting, the total time is 3.5 hours.

    Good Luck.

I've enabled the cache & set it to 10GB. A film that should have taken 6 hours was complete in 4 hours.
Two pass high quality VBR. 720mb Divx avi to MPEG2 SVCD.
