  1. Hello to all. I have been working with TMPGEnc to try to encode an mpeg2 file I captured with my ATI All-in-Wonder card. Quality of the capture fileis pretty good. Now I want to convert it using TMPGEnc, however the conversion is not succeeding. If I use a default VCD or SVCD template, seems to work. However, I wanted to use some of the templates on this site. Several say they only work with versions 2.5+. So, I am stuck. My TMPGEnc is version 2.01.30.116. It works with mpeg2 files. I tried to use the KVCD template, KVCD-CQ-352x480-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf. It churns but does not encode. Also tried template puertorican138's CVD Template.mcf, but it fails also.

Can anyone assist me? I am getting close, I can feel it. Thanks in advance and God bless.

  2. All posted KVCD templates are designed to work with TMPEG versions 2.5x. Not older versions.

Silly question: Why don't you get a newer version?

  4. Because my version is enabled to output mpeg2 and read mpeg2. The new demo version won't read mpeg2 files and has a time limit on outputting mpeg2 (if it is as I last tried it). The pro version still costs about $50, again, unless things have changed. And I am not certain that the pro version will read mpeg2. Will it?

  5. OK, so I will try frameserving. How about this? The mpeg2 files I am capturing, or more importantly have already captured, will not load for TMPGEnc or VirtualDub. Crashes or says it is incompatable. Both programs will open some of the mpeg2 files I have but not the ones captured by the ati using the ati tool. Now, TMPGEnc mpeg tools will open them. And other programs I have open them. So, what could be the specific setting or attribute of these mpeg2 files that I can modify or adjust for?
