Do I use Virtual Dub to join the episodes...
And if so, how do I include a few seconds of black screen inbetween each episode?
I am a newbie and have tried to post this in the newbie forums...but haven't been able to get an answer.![]()

If the episodes are in avi format, then you can use virtualdub to join them. If you are using VCDEasy, you could make a blackscreen image and insert it as an mpeg still between episodes.
My question is, why do you need to join them? Just encode them separately. You can put more than one MPEG on one VCD, providing space permits. With separate MPEGs you should be able to just press the chapter advance on your DVD player, and if you have not set any other chapter entry points, then it would advance to the next MPEG. -
thanks hwoodwar....
i didn't know i could do that...i regret asking more silly questions, but what is the procedure to do what you suggest?
The episodes are in .avi
I would encode them separately in virtual dub.
Then what? -
VDub is maybe not the best program to use for encoding mpgs, but when you've got your mpg encoder (eg CCE, TMPGEnc), converted all three files (eg to SPark1x01.mpg, SPark1x02.mpg, SPark1x03.mpg...) any old CD burning program with S/VCD support should let you put the three of them in order on an SVCD file/playlist and burn away, similar to making a CDROM, or a music cd with more than one song... a registered copy of Nero, or VCDEasy for example.

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
thanks EddyH...
Unfortunately, I rarely get a chance to work on this interest of mine, so every few months when I get started at it again...I have to relearn what all of my programs do.
I have CCE vs 2.50.01 and TMPGEnc... which one do you think is easier...i have the user guides from this site on both products.
I also have NERO Burning Rm 5.5.8 and VCDEasy
thanks again -
Thanks to your guidance I was able to use DVD2SCVD to use CCE to encode the .avi file to mpeg2.
I then used Nero to burn to a cd. The cd works just great with my Apex AD1100W player...however, I cannot fast forward or reverse...Did I miss a step...or is there a special process needed to have that feature included?
