  2. Most of the ones on the site below can be reencoded from mpeg1 to mpeg2 SVCD in a couple minutes on a celeron or higher pc - maybe even on a mac

    personano58:

I/we appreciate you searching first. Thank you.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by an "SVCD intro". General information about the SVCD format can be found here:

    http://www.vcdhelp/svcd

If you are looking for a general guide to creating SVCD's, it's pretty much that same as for VCDs accept you capture at 480 x 480 NTSC, or 480 x 576 PAL, or higher resolution, then use an SVCD template in your encoder software.

There are a bunch of guides here (in the second section entitled "How to convert to SVCD or XSVCD MPEG2"):

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/convert

    I also, found this:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=336336&highlight=svcd+guide#336336

I rarely create SVCDs myself, except when I am making a backup copy of one of my DVDs, then I use DVD2SVCD, with TMPGenc as the encoder, 2-Pass VBR and the high quality motion search precision setting.

The bulk of the "capturing" I do I encode to CVD using PuertoRican138's CVD template, changing the audio for full CVD compliance.

That was my goal a few days back. Below is a link to my question and I think I have the process correct going from a minidv tape to svcd. I just have to figure out which of my options (not the process) are incorrect.
