  1. Hi all!

I have a problem with an xvid movie! If I convet it the easy way with TMPGEnc, as described by "0 kewl" in his great guide, I get a great mpeg2 movie, that works perfect when played on my computer in WinDVD.

BUT, an here is my problem, when I try to burn it with either Nero, VCDEasy or WinOnCD, they all say that it isenīt a "proper SVCD file"!

If I overrule that msg. and burn it anyway, I get a great picture, but no sound, when I play it on my DVD player!! And if I put the SVCD in my computers DVD player it wont play either! What am I doing wrong???

    PLZ anybody help me!!!!

    Yours Chefen31

  2. Just a guess:

I think ur are missing a codec. (ie: ac3, ogg). Drag the xvid into vdub and file>>file info to see what type of audio is being used. If it fails, i would guess ur missing a audio codec. I think if u drag it to tmpeg, it will show no audio file to convert.

Download nimo's codec pack and select all the audio codec. Maybe need to reboot.

Then use vdub again to see if the right codec is installed. If OK, I would scan for video stream errors and save vid with pcm wav. See: http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php

  3. Hi RaleighNC and others!!

That was my first guess to, Vdub says that it is a 5 channel 48000Hz audio, compression unknown (tag2000)!
So I extracted the audio, renamed it to ac3 and made a wave file of it, with HeadAc3he!
Again I get a great result using TMPGEnc Plus! The mpeg2 file plays perfect with sound in WinDVD!
Burning the file with Nero and playing the SVCD in my standalone DVD player!!!! NO SOUND!!!
Beginning to think it my DVD player, but, if I again put svcd(the cd) in my DVD drive on my computer, WinDVD wont play it either!!!!

    SO back to quare one!!!

  4. What is the spec of the wav file after converting from ac3?? 44.1/224 or 192??

Are u using lame plug in with tmpgenc instead of the default audio encoder?? I'm just throwing out suggestions.

I use avi2svcd kit with cce. U can use tmpgenc as the encoder. I've had good luck converting avi's using http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php guide.

  5. The wave is an 44.1/224 and no havenīt used lame plug in this time. I have both toolame and lame plug in, so Iīll give it a try!

    Should I use 44.1Hz 192Kbps instead of 224Kbps?
