i am looking to increase my current 1.5x rip speed on my pos Raite DVD by getting a new dvd-rom:
which should i get:

I just purchased a lite-on 16X dvd-rom, I have always had good luck with lite-on! I bought mine form newegg for 43.00 bucks shipped and it is black.

lite-on 16x gets my vote as well. I rip dvd9's at 7-8x and dvd5's at 14.5x.

thanks for the tip but i was hoping to get someone to advise me on which one to buy that i can get locally, this weekend... hence, the list

cheapest one, there will mostlikly be no difference unless it really sucks then you just return it!
