  1. Hi there,
I need some helo: I have a xtasy everything card to make captures of Vhs to dvd. I am happy with drop frames though it varies; however, I still drop some. I was wondering if the ADVC 100 from canopus if worth the money and forget about my xtasy card? I really don't know what to do and have not heard of anyone making the comparison between the two
    Thanks
    Guillaume

  3. what about quality? Do you get at least equal quality from original vhs? One of the annoyances of using the xtasy and probably any capture card is all the tweaking and adjusting that you need to make in order for things to go smoothly. I think the canopus is simpler in use for same results...?
    Thanks,
    Guillaume

It's the top rated capture card for a very good reason - it's the best. I know, I have one!

  5. In my opinion the ADVC-100 is the best ! No lost frames and the quality going back to VHS is as good as the video going in. Well worth the price.

PS Stay away from all Dazzle products!!

  6. if you have a high def tv, encode the dvd in low res dvd in tmpeg, it will look like the original. if you burn in regular 720x dvd mode, the vhs conversion will be pixelated on a high def tv (or ready like my sony 36xbr400) but look fine on regular tv's
